My years as a registered nurse have provided the opportunity to acquire indepth knowledge about health related matters. In addition, I have a Bachelor of Environmental Studies degree. The university courses have given me writing experience through the many essays that I have written.

I am a member of Halton Hills Toastmasters Club and have written and presented several speeches. This has been a very enjoyable experience. In addition to honing speaking skills, writing skills are also improved.

I feel that environmental issues such as loss of wildlife habitat, loss of fertile farmland, water quality and many others are not given the importance and attention that they deserve. Global warming seems to be the main focus of our society.

My interests are varied and include gardening and landscaping, ballroom dancing, reading (particularly adventure, mystery and historical biography), travel (especially cruising), animal and plant welfare. The gardening interest led me to take the three basic horticultural courses through the University of Guelph.

Articles about the environment and horticulture are of particular interest to me.
